The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has retained $8million in Royalties for Regions funding set aside for the economic transformation of the Kalgoorlie CBD.
The Goldfields Esperance Development Commission has confirmed to the City that the $8million financial assistance agreement for the Revitalisation of Kalgoorlie’s Central Hannan Precinct from the Goldfields Esperance Revitalisation Fund is secure.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said the City was pleased to have confirmation from the State that the money was still allocated to the economic transformation of the Kalgoorlie CBD.
“We were always confident that this money would remain committed to the City’s CBD Transformation project,” he said.
“The redevelopment of the Kalgoorlie CBD is a central part of our plans for economic transformation in the City, and aligns strongly with the Growing Kalgoorlie-Boulder Plan and the City’s Small Business Friendly initiatives.
“The project also aligns strongly with the State Government’s mandate for economic growth and job creation.”
