The City is proposing to carry out safety improvement works at the Boulder Road/Maritana Street/Egan Street intersection this financial year. The works involve the construction of a roundabout for which some service relocation works at the intersection have already commenced.
The proposed works are fully funded under the Federal Go
vernment’s National Blackspot Program which aims to improve the safety at high risk locations.
In addition to the installation of a roundabout the works will also include:
- Upgrading of the underground drainage.
- Safety improvements to the bus bays on Maritana Street.
The City has worked hard to minimise the loss of existing parking bays, however the proposal will result in the removal of a total of 11 existing parking bays, mostly to allow for the safety improvements to the bus bays and the overall safety of the intersection.
The drawing is available at the City’s Administration Building, 577 Hannan Street, the CBD Customer Service Centre, Shop 8-10 Market Arcade, or can be viewed here
