Spraying of weeds
Engineering Services aims to minimise the spread of weeds in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder through an approved eradication program.
We spray undesirable weeds in priority areas, depending on seasonal growth, according to following schedule:
- Dual use paths—once every 6 to 12 months
- Right of ways—once every 3 to 6 months
- Main entrance roads—as needed
- Industrial areas—as needed.
During spraying operations, our staff use herbicides which pose minimal risk to the environment and the public, and take all necessary precautions to avoid property damage and exposure to dangerous chemicals.
For more information, or to request for weed spraying, please contact Engineering Services.
Drainage construction and maintenance
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is responsible for drainage within road reserves and the major drainage system, Gribble Creek.
Our drainage construction program aims to rectify known drainage issues throughout the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, subject to Council approval and availability of funding.
Ongoing works include improvements to Gribble Creek to reduce flooding in large storm events, such as:
- Upgrading of road crossings
- Re-profiling sections.
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder's drainage maintenance program includes the clearing and re-profiling of the existing drainage system.
For more information, or the report a drainage problem, please contact Engineering Services.
