Financial Services

Headed by Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Services Area encompasses the day to day business operations of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder as well as the City’s business units including financial services, corporate strategy and planning, commercial operations, assets and procurement and internal service provision.
Finance Services is responsible for:

  • Statutory financial reporting

  • Annual budget

  • Rate billing and collection

  • Investment of surplus funds

  • Grants management

  • Cost control-accounts payable, plant recovery and overheads

  • Payroll

Council Businesses and Property Services oversee:

  • City owned property, including the Endowment Block

  • Commercial business operations owned by the City including the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport, Kalgoorlie Golf Course, Goldfields Record Storage and the Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre

The Information, Communication and Technology Services area look after:

  • Information systems and software acquisition

  • Freedom of Information requests

  • Information management, archiving and record keeping

  • GIS

  • Communications hardware

Governance and Customer Service are responsible for:

  • Overseeing all governance and policy

  • Council meetings, minutes and agendas

  • Customer service
