The streets will come alive with the first of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s #ShoploKalwa street entertainment program taking place this weekend.
A range of activities will pop up in both Kalgoorlie and Boulder CBD’s on Saturdays and Sundays in the lead up to Christmas in collaboration with social enterprise E13.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said activating the public spaces creates a vibrant and entertaining experience for shoppers.
“People tend to start shopping for gifts well before December, so this year we have scheduled the program to begin earlier than previous years,” he said.
“Every dollar spent here helps support local jobs, the community and creates a great place to live.”
If every shopper spends at least half of their yearly Christmas budget locally it injects $5.7million to our local economy.
