The Kalgoorlie-Boulder community will now have central access to a key business unit as part of the ongoing activation of the Kalgoorlie CBD.
From today, the City Living Unit, which incorporates community and wellness, sport and recreation, youth, arts and culture, events, and tourism, will be based in the Market Arcade alongside the CBD Customer Service Centre.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said the relocation of the City Living Unit was part of a larger initiative activate the Kalgoorlie CBD.
"One of the key elements of space activation is giving people a reason to visit an area, and having such a diverse business unit based in the CBD definitely does that," he said.
"The City Living Unit will be front and centre for community engagement and consultation, especially for projects like the Kalgoorlie CBD Economic Transformation. The central location really provides easy access to sections of our community which we are focusing on increasing our engagement with, including young people and Aboriginal people.
It also gives the Team greater proximity to the various community agencies they work with on a day to day basis."
People can contact the City Living Unit on 90219600 or stop by and see the team in Shop 10, Market Arcade.
