The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is offering two free food safety training workshops for local businesses working in the food industry.
The workshops will include common causes of non-compliance and food contamination issues to help improve the general standard of food safety in the community.
Each attendee will come away with a Certificate of Attendance and renewed knowledge and skills in food safety and an understanding of their legal obligations.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said the City was offering the workshops to help local food businesses ensure that their staff were trained and competent in safe food handling techniques and general food safety.
“One of the roles of local government is to inspect food service providers and ensure that they’re meeting all of the necessary health requirements, so it makes sense for us to reach out to the food businesses to ensure they have access to the training they need,” he said.
“These workshops not only ensure that food safety compliance standards are upheld, but also support our local small businesses to provide training to their staff and ensure that they are up to date with currently practices.” Workshop 1
