Nominations for the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Extraordinary Election will open on Wednesday, 29 January 2020, and will close at 4pm on Wednesday, 5 February 2020.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder residents with a commitment to serving the local community are encouraged to nominate for the extraordinary election, which consists of one vacancy for a four year term as a Councillor, expiring on 21 October 2023.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said it would be great to see a strong field of candidates to ensure due democratic process.
“We have a unique opportunity for candidates who missed getting elected at the last election, or who have been waiting for an opportunity to run, to do so now, with a four year term currently vacant,” he said.
“The City is committed to having strong, accountable leadership, and this starts with our Elected Members, so anyone who feels they fit the criteria is encouraged to run.”
Nominations must be lodged with the Returning Officer by appointment at any time during the nomination period, or between 2.00pm and 4.00pm Wednesday, 5 February 2020 (close of nominations) at the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Administration Building, 577 Hannan St, Kalgoorlie 6430.
