Nominations for the HitFM Kalgoorlie-Boulder Youth Awards have been extended to close of business on Friday, 10 April. The Youth Awards which celebrates all of the inspiring contributions young people are making in our community are held in partnership with HitFM for the second year running.
This year’s awards take on a fresh new look with the introduction of FOUR award categories to recognise the variety of ways young people contribute to Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The award categories for this year are the Young Achiever Award
, Young Community Champion Award
, Young Cultural Leader Award
and Young Tradesperson or Apprentice of the Year
Nominations will be judged on factors such as the nominee's leadership on a community issue, excellence in their field of work or study, significant contributions to their local community and/or culture and other noteworthy achievements or contributions they have made to our community.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said the Youth Awards were a time to focus on something commendable in our community at this time.
“The nomination period has been extended by two weeks this year as no doubt many people’s focus has been elsewhere recently. Celebrating our youth is vital at a time like this, bringing attention to something positive and recognising these young people for their efforts and achievements,” he said.
“Winners receive a $500 cash prize while also having their accomplishments showcased throughout the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s WA Youth Week in April this year.”
Young people from Kalgoorlie-Boulder who are aged from 12 to 25 are eligible to be nominated for the awards. Nominees should refer to the Terms and Conditions along with Awards Selection Criteria before submitting their nomination, these along with more information can be found on the City’s website at www.ckb.wa.gov.au/YouthAwards
