The Goldfields Arts Centre will be playing host to renowned jazz musician James Morrison and his Academy Jazz Ensemble for a one night only performance on Wednesday 26 June.
James Morrison is an Australian born jazz virtuoso who has performed with a range of international stars including Dizzy Gillespie, Don Burrows, Ray Charles and B.B. King, and is the founder of the James Morrison Jazz Orchestra and the internationally acclaimed James Morrison Academy.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said he was excited to announce the performance will also include three pieces performed by the Goldfields Brass Band, including one piece performed with James Morrison.
“The Goldfields Arts Centre is continuing to look at ways we can not only grow our audiences, but also ways that we can partner with local community groups, like the Goldfields Brass Band, and help them develop and grow, providing them with opportunities to learn from the performers and artists we are bringing the Kalgoorlie-Boulder,” he said.
“Every member of the Academy Jazz Ensemble who are travelling to Kalgoorlie-Boulder with James are all originally from Western Australia and they’re returning especially for this tour.”
