The long anticipated Kalgoorlie Golf Club Resort and Clubhouse concept designs have been finalised. The designs conceptualises a brief to create a luxury resort with 120 room hotel, day spa, function room, restaurant and conference centre, which encapsulates the spirit of the Goldfields, and delivers an iconic building.
The Kalgoorlie Golf Club Resort is inspired by a vision synonymous with the Goldfield’s mining identity, the teeth of a diggers shovel grazing the soil. Thoughtfully designed by award winning architects Katsalidis Designs, who delivered the significant Mona at Hobart.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said, “This will be an iconic feature in our fantastic City. The inspiring structure builds on the theme of a machine bucket and the colours of the Goldfields. Katsalidis have delivered a spectacular vision which is an exciting milestone that adds to the City’s prominence of a must go destination in Australia. The building invites a feeling of space and luxury, the open plan brings the Goldfields landscapes that we know are so unique and special into the building, it really emulates the best of the Goldfields lifestyle.”
Mr Walker added, “The Kalgoorlie Golf Club Resort will not only offer a place of respite for golfers and tourists alike, but will also provide the business economy with top class convention facilities. Local residents will reap the benefit of having a premier staycation on their door step too, with a relaxing day spa and 24 hour services.”
Kalgoorlie Golf Course is currently ranked #20 in Australia's top 100 Public access courses and is a premier 18 hole grass golf course designed by top course designer Graham Marsh. The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder recently announced world renowned Double Tree by Hilton brand will be the Resort operator.
