With initial phases of reroofing works commencing at the William Grundt Memorial Library, an opportunity has been identified to improve electrical components in the building.
This will see a change to opening hours at the Library for a temporary period, with the opening time being pushed back by one hour each day.
Chief Executive Officer John Walker said the City has opted to make these upgrades with the cost being minimal and not affecting the overall delivery timeframe of the project.
“We understand that these services are valued by our community and it is unexpected, but it’s an opportunity to rectify issues and upgrade the asset for the future benefit of staff and patrons.”
“A later opening time will ensure the safety of contractors, patrons and staff and standard operating hours will resume as normal once the works are complete,” he said.
From Monday, 14 October 2019 the Library will be open from 10:00am to 5:30pm Monday’s and Wednesday’s, 10:00am to 8:00pm Tuesday’s and Thursday’s, 10:00am to 5:00pm Friday’s and normal operating hours on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
