The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has implemented amendments to the Activities on Thoroughfares and Trading in Thoroughfares and Public Places Local Law 2018. This came into operation on Friday, 18 May 2018.
The purpose of the amendment to the local law was that the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, by amending the Activities on Thoroughfares and Trading in Thoroughfares and Public Places Local Law (“principal local law”) could more effectively regulate certain forms of anti-social behaviour on thoroughfares and public places.
The effect of the amendment to the local law was to:
- insert additional general prohibitions on activities on thoroughfares and public places under clause 2.1 of the principal local law;
- insert additional activities allowed with a permit under clause 2.2(1) of the principal local law;
- revise the modified penalties applicable to prescribed offences under Schedule 1 of the principal local law; and
- make consequential amendments.
