Disposal of used tyres - Amendment to Fees and Charges

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1995  |  AMENDMENT TO SCHEDULE OF FEES AND CHARGES
YARRI ROAD REFUSE FACILITY DISPOSAL OF USED TYRES

At the Ordinary Council meeting held 25 March 2019, Council resolved to give notice to amend the 2018/19 Schedule of Fees and Charges for the disposal of used tyres at Yarri Road Refuse Facility.
 
If adopted by Council, the amended fees will apply on and from Tuesday, 23 April 2019, in accordance with section 6.16 of the Local Government Act 1995. These new fees and charges will only apply to commercial tyre disposal.
 
Local residents can continue to dispose up to 8 passenger and/or motorcycle tyres per property in each financial year for no charge.
 
The new fees will be as follows;
 
Description of Fee and Charge Total Amount (Includes GST)
Commercial tyre charge (cut or shredded) – local businesses $250 per tonne
Commercial tyre charge (cut or shredded) – businesses based outside the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder $355 per tonne
Commercial tyre charge (cut or shredded) – originating from the Perth Metropolitan Area $425 per tonne

The City welcomes any submissions in writing on the proposed charges. Feedback must be submitted by 5pm Thursday, 4 April 2019 via email mailbag@ckb.wa.gov.au or in person at the City Administration Office, 577 Hannan St, Kalgoorlie, between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
