The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder proudly presents the Growing Together: Goldfields Early Childhood Education and Care Conference. 

We invite all early childhood education and care educators to join us for this complimentary professional development event, as part of the Goldfields Professional Development Project.

Highlights include:

  • Behaviour Management: Strategies and insights from Robert Yammouni of Childcare Experts, Perth.
  • Educator Wellbeing: Moving mindfulness practice with Jesabe Warner, of Jesabe Warner Naturopathy.
  • Autism Awareness: Introduction to understanding and supporting diverse learning needs presented by Robert Yammouni.
  • Aboriginal Languages: Embracing and integrating local languages and cultures from Tanya Tucker of East Kalgoorlie Primary School and Sue Hanson of Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre.

Plus mini wellness sessions, giveaways, and more!

Meet the Presenters

Sue Hanson

Sue Hanson

Sue holds both a teaching and a linguistics degree, specialising in child first language acquisition, and cognitive linguistics. She established the  Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre Aboriginal Corporation in Kalgoorlie 14 years as the founding CEO and Senior Linguist.

In her 24 year teaching career, Sue has spent significant time teaching in remote Aboriginal independent community schools in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions.

Tanya Tucker

Tanya Tucker

Tanya is a proud Wangkatja woman, daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Tanya grew up living in different places throughout the Goldfields Region; Norseman, Widgiemooltha, Kalgoorlie, Menzies and Coolgardie.

As well as an educational and language teacher, Sue is Coordinator for the Goldfields Aboriginal Language Network, business owner of Ninga Nunthalee, and author of the Ninga Nunthalee Wangkatja Series.

 

Jesabe Warner

Jesabe Warner

Jesabe is a naturopath, nutritionist, Qi Gong and meditation teacher and founder of Jesabe Warner Naturopathy.

Jesabe is passionate about helping people manage stress, anxiety, fatigue and hormones so they can reach their health goals and live a life they love. Her intention is to EMPOWER you with tools and resources so that you feel confident in the ongoing management of your health.

 

Robert

Robert Yammouni

Robert is the Managing Director and owner of Childcare Experts and has over 17 years of experience in the education and care sector.

Before founding Childcare Experts, Robert was an Assessment Officer with the Education and Care Regulatory Unit, where they conducted Assessment & Rating visits to a variety of services. Robert's work is driven by a passion for helping services meet and exceed National Quality Standards, ensuring children receive the best care and education possible.

 


Breakout Session

Join us for an engaging session that focuses on autism awareness. This workshop is designed to enhance your understanding and equip you with the tools to better support diverse learning needs.
