The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder wishes to advise that the upcoming KidsFest 2022 scheduled for April 9 and 10, 2022 will be postponed until October 15 and 16, 2022 due to the State Government COVID-19 level 2 measures in place.

The following level 2 measures are in place for all events in Western Australia currently:

KidsFest 2022

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is proud to welcome back KidsFest for 2022 this October 15 and 16!

This action-packed two-day festival brings exciting entertainment, activities and sports to one place for a whole weekend of fun.

For families with children aged 0-12, enjoy this free event which celebrates all things fun with a full schedule of activities and entertainment.

What's On at KidsFest

Featuring headline act Paw Patrol, rescue dogs in training Chase, Marshall and Ryder will be performing eight stage shows over the weekend and roving the grounds each day for photo opportunities.

A Science Wonderland will be catered by SciTech to engage the kids in the weird and wonderful world of science with interactive exhibits, brain-bending challenges and awesome technology.

The SciTech stage shows will present Under Pressure, an exploration of air pressure, and Hot vs Cold, the ultimate showdown in which two temperatures enter and only one leaves.

For the animal lovers, camel rides with the friendly four-legged giants from Calamunda Camel Farm will run throughout the day and a petting zoo full of cuddly farm animals will be catered by Old MacDonald’s Farm.

For the action seekers, there will be plenty to do including go-kart rides provided by Oz Kidz Kartz, a 9-hole mini-golf course, bungee trampolines, a large inflatable soccer pitch and a 35m inflatable obstacle course provided by Perth Bouncy Castle Hire. There will also be inflatables just for the little ones so they can bounce freely.

For the arty types, craft activities will be facilitated by the Museum of the Goldfields, plastercraft activities facilitated by Super Sarah, and live sketch artist Ash Von Castel will be set up to capture the little ones creating an instant memory to take home.

Do you have a gymnast or clown in training at home? Bring them to KidsFest! Circus WA workshops will be set up throughout the weekend with trainers teaching spinning plates, flower sticks, poi, juggling balls, hula hoops and diablo.

For the little sustainability heroes, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Waste Department, the Community Garden and the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group are teaming up to present the Sustainability Corner! There will be craft activities and colouring-in, plus the kids will be able to get hands-on and help create a worm farm out of an old fridge! Kids love playing with the worms and feeding them scraps of food. The team will also be decorating the outside of the fridge which the kids can help with.

And of course, don’t forget to take the kids to Angie the Fairy for face painting! Want to be transformed into a butterfly, a lion, or even Spider-man? Angie is on it!

To fuel the day of fun, there will be a mix of local food vendors and several food trucks from Perth, bringing some amazing gourmet food to Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Whether you are into barbecue, Middle-Eastern and Asian cuisines, refreshing iced teas, German delicacies, or fresh hot doughnuts there is sure to be something for every palate.
