ArtPrize workshops providing artists with skills and tools

18-07 ArtPrize workshops providing artists with skills and tools A series of workshops, hosted by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder ArtPrize and planned to develop skills and build capacity in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder local arts community, are quickly filling up.

Collaborating with local champions of the arts, the free workshops are being held to encourage local emerging artists as well as advanced artists to develop their skills and prepare their submission for the 2018 ArtPrize.

Both workshops Abstract Painting with Hippocrocaduck and Technical Photography held at the Goldfields Arts Centre are now sold out. The recently announced workshop with renowned sculpturist Jason Wooldridge will be the last opportunity to take advantage of the Artprize workshops series for 2018.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said “the interactive sessions will engage with youths and adults to develop techniques.”

“Jason is renowned for Sculptures along the Esperance foreshore include the famous Whale Tail. It is a great opportunity for our local artists to meet with a sculptor of his calibre and be able to provide the resources to encourage development.”

The final workshop in the series will be held at Black Crow Studio, Boulder Rd. Youth aged 12 – 17 years are welcome to attend a morning session on Saturday 21 July from 10am to 12noon and adults for an afternoon session from 1pm to 3pm.
