The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is proud to announce that the second instalment of the Pop-Up Project will commence on Saturday, 14 May 2022 and run for nine days with a giant jungle maze installed at Usher Park in partnership with Creative Mazes.

The opening weekend of the Pop-Up Project will run Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May from 10:00 am through to 4:00 pm and be celebrated with a range of exciting activities for the community to enjoy, including food stalls, bouncy castles, Street Sports, a chill-out zone and more.

The temporary maze installation is a fun, challenging and visually striking activity for youth and adults to enjoy. With activities for kids to enjoy and treasure hunts throughout the maze, this installation is set to bring hours of fun for the community.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor John Bowler said this year's Pop-Up Project is designed to get kids out and about in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and offer an alternative to the unfortunate postponement of KidsFest.

“With the postponement of KidsFest until October 2022, the Pop-Up Project is an excellent opportunity for kids and adults to enjoy a unique free community activity,” Mr Bowler said.

“The opening weekend will be filled with various activities and food vendors, and I encourage everyone to come down to partake in the free event.

“With the COVID restrictions easing, we’re able to provide a COVID safe event without the requirement of capacity limits and proof of vaccinations.”

The maze will be installed until Sunday 22 May, with activities and food vendors planned for the closing weekend - don't miss out!
