The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has received requests from several businesses in the Kalgoorlie city centre to increase parking monitoring.
The City is responding to these requests by running a short educational campaign to remind visitors and residents to comply with signed parking restrictions on Hannan Street.
From tomorrow, the City will be undertaking increased monitoring and issuing warning notices to people who overstay signed parking limits for a period of three days. Normal ticketing for overstays will apply from Monday, 11 October 2021.
Acting CEO for the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Alex Wiese said that parking limits are in place so that residents and visitors can access the businesses and services they wish to utilise.
“There has never been a better time to shop local and support local businesses; customer access to parking is critical to achieving this,
“The objective of the City’s parking monitoring program is not to generate revenue but to support businesses and ensure access to services,” Mr Wiese said.
