The City Celebrates Diversity with The Annual Multicultural Festival

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s most popular event is returning bigger and better than ever for 2022. The annual Multicultural Festival will take place on Saturday 11 June from 3PM to 8PM. The event will celebrate the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community’s rich cultural diversity with a street market in the Lord Forrest Precinct and on Cassidy Street.

The free community event, which has been funded by Lotterywest, features food trucks, roving performers, live entertainment and a special licensed area provided by Beaten Track Brewery.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor John Bowler said the Multicultural Festival is the City’s largest cultural celebration and a real showstopper in the annual event calendar.

“After the change of venue last year being so well received by the community, it’s great to be returning the festival to the Cassidy Street and Lord Forrest Precinct again this year,” he said.

“The Multicultural Festival provides a significant economic benefit for local food vendors and community groups due to the large number of expected attendees.

“It also provides exposure for entertainment groups performing on stage providing an opportunity to recruit new members and gain exposure.”

The City is calling for expressions of interest for live entertainment from local community groups and food vendors offering all cuisines.

Expressions of interest close at 5PM Friday 29 April and can be emailed to the City’s Events team via mailbag@ckb.wa.gov.au or by calling 9021 9600.
