The City is excited to announce the continuation of its highly popular Waste Education Workshops, aimed at reducing waste and promoting composting and recycling within households. The latest sessions in the popular workshop series will be led by sustainable living experts Shani and Tim from Ecoburbia. The free workshops on Thursday 15, Friday 16 and Saturday 17 August will provide residents with practical strategies for effective household waste management and recycling, including worm farming, composting, water collection and reuse, and preserving produce.

In addition to the workshops, Shani and Tim will host a special children’s Storytime at the William Grundt Memorial Library on Saturday, 17 August. They will read their book, Lady Marmalade, which tells the adventures of a cheeky, curious, and hungry country goat in the city.

The Waste Education Workshops are part of the City’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, environmental education, and encouraging more household organic recycling. As part of the initiative, residents who attend a workshop are eligible to receive a $50 rebate towards the purchase of a composting unit.
