The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Goldfields Oasis has been again recognised as one of Western Australia’s leading waterwise aquatic centres by earning Gold Waterwise endorsement by the Water Corporation.

The Goldfields Oasis was acknowledged for its water-saving efforts as part of Water Corporation’s Aquatic Centre Program – one of five non-residential water efficiency programs.
Water Corporation Customer and Community General Manager, Karen Willis, congratulated participants in each non-residential waterwise program for their ongoing commitment to water efficiency.

"Every drop of water in Western Australia is precious and it’s up to us all to ensure we use water as efficiently as possible,” Ms Willis said.
“This is why we support and work with a range of non-residential organisations to help them understand their water use and take action to reduce their consumption.
“On behalf of Water Corporation, congratulations to all award recipients at this year’s Waterwise Recognition Event and thank you for being leaders in the sustainable and efficient use of our most precious resource.”

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor John Bowler said that the City was honoured that the Goldfields Oasis was once again recognised as one of Western Australia’s leading waterwise aquatic facilities in the State.

“Water is a precious resource here in the Goldfields, it has to travel over 560km down the pipeline to reach us, and this award acknowledges the best practice water management in place at the Goldfields Oasis which compliments the City’s other water re-use activities including the use of recycled water greening all our parks and ovals.”
