Live, Explore & Work in the Outback!
This page has been developed to highlight the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s current employment vacancies to the retired, semi-retired, or those other ‘lucky’ individuals, who are living on the road whilst exploring our beautiful country.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder is booming which provides fantastic employment opportunities but accommodation can sometimes take a bit longer to source. The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has been doing some out of the box thinking and is sending out a call to ‘grey nomads’ and other travellers who might like to stay with us for a while (three, six or 12 months) and work at the City..
This is an opportunity to re-charge your batteries, build up that bank account and explore everything the Goldfields has to offer in your spare time.
What Hours are Available?
Who wants to work full-time when there’s gold prospecting and exploring to be done?
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder will tailor working hours to accommodate the work/life balance you have become accustomed to.
The minimum working hours is two days per week (15 hours excluding a lunch break) but even these hours can be spread across three, four or five days – whatever suits you! Naturally, full-time positions are on offer too.
Where Will I Stay?
There are wonderful caravan parks, motels and hotels around the city which can accommodate you. However, should you find it difficult to source accommodation, the City has an area that has powered sites and an ablution block with toilets and showers. If you commit to working a minimum of 15 hours per week for a minimum of three months, the City will offer you a place to park your self-contained mobile home/caravan.
