The City’s Youth Services provide many opportunities for young people to engage in activities all happening at various youth friendly spaces around town. We also identify leadership and development programs to deliver here in Kalgoorlie-Boulder for our local youth community.

Photo Competition

Captured by YOUth is a photo competition for young people in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and its connected communities.
You are invited to share photos of your experiences throughout summer, we want to see life through your eyes!

There are three Competition Categories you can enter:

Our People
Photos of family, music, dance and arts, language, religion, bush tucker and adventure.

Our Environment
Photos of the natural environment in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and its connected communities. Think landscapes and waterscapes, flora and fauna, all in their natural state.

Our Landmarks
Photos of the built environment; man-made buildings, sculptures, statues and roads.

Things you need to know

Competition Open: 18 December 2020
Competition Close: 1 February 2021

Photos must be taken within this timeframe.
  • You must be between the ages 12-25 years.
  • You must live in Kalgoorlie-Boulder or a connected community. In the context of the Captured by YOUth Photo Competition, a connected community refers to surrounding communities or towns or those that have an association with Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
  • You can enter a maximum of 5 photos.
  • If your photo contains an identifiable person, you as the entrant is responsible for obtaining permission to publish the photo.

Upload your photo submission to your social media account and tag @CKByouth
In the caption, include a brief description of the photo as well as the following details and hashtags:

- Your First Name
- Your Last Name
- Category Name

Activities

BOOM TIME

BOOM TIME is a weekly program delivered in partnership between the City's Youth Services and headspace Kalgoorlie's Street Van Team. Located at the BOOM BOX (the BIG pink sea container) at Kingsbury Park, BOOM TIME is a fun and safe place for young people to come together to connect with each other and youth service providers.














When:  Thursdays, 2.30pm - 4.30pm.
Where: Kingsbury Park, Macdonald Street, Kalgoorlie.
Cost: FREE


Thanks to support from The Rotary Club of Kalgoorlie, the City's Youth Services have heaps of equipment and activities for young people including:
  • A BOOMing audio system
  • Portable BBQ
  • Table Tennis
  • Sporting Equipment
  • Giant Garden Games
