Australian super star Pete Murray has been announced as the headline act for the Australia Day Sunset at the Soundshell Concert on Saturday, 26 January 2019.
The first of three free concerts series will be held at the Rotary Soundshell, Centennial Park and will kick off with the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony and Australia Day Awards announcement including the Australia Day Citizen Award, the Australia Day Community Group or Event of the Year Award and the Annual Walk of Fame Award from 6.00pm.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Acting CEO Ivana Castle said it is exciting for Kalgoorlie-Boulder to have an exclusive regional gig.
“Pete Murray is a much loved Aussie musician and we’re so lucky to offer a performer who sells out concerts across the world,” she said.
“Block out Saturday, 26 January 2019 in your diary and have your Australia Day celebrations at the Rotary Soundshell. Pete Murray will be supported by local musician Meggan Smith plus there will be Australia Day food fare, Beaten Track Brewery pop-up bar and fireworks at 8.45pm.”
The second Sunset at the Soundshell concert will be held on 9 February 2019 and feature Boogie Lover Band, a highly energetic group of musicians who will get you up and dancing with disco hits of the 70's and 80's right through to the latest hits. The final concert of the series will take place on 23 February 2019, headlined by Australian alternative rock band Kingswood.
Ms Castle added, “The Sunset at the Soundshell series is a real family friendly event, I encourage you to pack a picnic, bring your deck chairs, relax and have a great time.”
