The City has strict event procedures and guidelines, including the completion of pre-event compliance inspections. However, despite the best efforts of organisers (and as is the nature of events), unexpected situations can arise. The City Events Team is experienced in enacting risk management protocols if required - as was evident in their response to the deflated inflatable. To provide clarification, the City investigated the cause, and it was confirmed that the generator overheated. The cause of overheating has not been identified. The generator was inspected, and sufficient fuel for the remainder of the event was found inside.
