Abandoned Vehicles
It is illegal to abandon vehicles on public land or roads. This includes vehicles that are:
- Derelict;
- Unregistered;
- Parked on verges or the sides of roads; and
- Left in bushland.
Community Rangers patrolling the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder will locate and investigate abandoned vehicles. They will issue notices to owners to remove the vehicles within a certain time frame.
Police will also be consulted so Community Rangers can identify and notify the registered owners.
If the vehicle has not been removed by the expiry date, the vehicle will be towed to either the scrap or impound yards depending on its condition.
Concerns regarding an abandoned vehicle should be directed to the Community Rangers.
