The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, in partnership with the Department of Social Services, invites applications for funding to areas of the Goldfields region as part of the 2023/24 Local Services Plans - Community-led Support Fund (LSP-CSF).
Funding is available for previous Cashless Debit Card trial sites in the region including the Shires of Coolgardie, Menzies, Laverton, Leonora and Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The fund provides an opportunity for local governments and community groups to secure financial support for projects that link with the Local Services Plan outcomes.
As part of ceasing the Cashless Debit Card, the Australian Government developed a Local Services Plan in consultation with regional stakeholders. The funding available intends to provide short-term financial support to projects that meet the immediate needs identified in the Plans and supports the implementation or expansion of support services aligned with community needs.
Mayor John Bowler said the funding support was crucial to ensuring essential resources were available to provide the wrap-around support required in these targeted regional areas.
“This funding will allow for the expansion of local services to provide immediate relief for those facing social and financial challenges, as well as drive community-led initiatives and projects.”

“I encourage all eligible organisations to apply and bring forward innovative, community-driven projects that will have long-lasting impacts on the lives of Goldfields residents,” said Mayor Bowler.
Successful projects under the LSP-CSF must be completed by 30 June 2024. This timeframe ensures that the projects come to fruition within a reasonable time, delivering their intended positive outcomes to the Goldfields community.
Applications close 5pm, 1 September 2023 and workshops will be delivered in the local government areas eligible for funding commencing 7 August 2023.

Community-led Support Fund
The Local Services Plans - Community-led Support Fund (LSP-CSF) is a funding opportunity established in July 2023 by the Australian Government. It aims to improve community services and address social issues in former Cashless Debit Card (CDC) locations, including Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Shires of Laverton, Leonora, Menzies and Coolgardie.
The Goldfields region has been allocated funding to be awarded to successful applicants that align their projects with the Goldfields Local Services Plan via the Local Services Plans - Community-led Support Fund for 2023/24.
