Local business owners, operators and employees are encouraged to come together to discuss all things business at the City’s bi-monthly free Business over Coffee events.

Held at a different venue each time, the events will focus on a new topic of relevance and delivered in collaboration with facilitators who have a range of business skills and experience.

The first event will be held on the 17 August at the EMJ Business Lounge located inside Just a Little Café on Maritana Street. To accommodate for different business schedules, the City will host two separate sessions – 9am-10.30 and 2pm-3.30pm.

The theme for August is ‘Understanding the Business Lifecycle’ delivered by Melanie Grohovaz from EMJ Consulting. Melanie has over 30 years of experience in business consulting, is a chartered accountant and has a passion for helping small business succeed.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO Andrew Brien said the City’s Economic Development Team are excited to deliver these events which are one of many Go Local First initiatives.

“Local businesses play an important role in supporting our local economy and community, which is why providing new business development opportunities and local business initiatives is a priority for the City.”

“These events were successfully held in the past, and after a short break during the pandemic, and following feedback from the business community we have decided to bring this popular event series back.”

“We encourage all business to come along to the sessions, share ideas and use the opportunity to further collaborate for the betterment of business in our city.”

“The facilitators selected each month, understand the challenges facing businesses in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and can provide a unique perceptive and relevant advice based on their experience and area of expertise,” he said.

Mr Brien said the City would focus the theme for each event based on what local businesses wanted and encouraged them to provide their feedback after each session.

The Business over Coffee events are free to attend.
