Proposed Temporary Closure of Mulgarrie Road

It is hereby notified that, in accordance with Section 3.50 (1a) of the Local Government Act 1995, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has received an application from Norton Gold Fields to temporarily close Mulgarrie Road from Goldfields Highway to its end for which the road will be closed to the passage of vehicles for a period of 60 months (5 years).

Norton Gold Fields is seeking the temporary closure of Mulgarrie Road to allow it to operate higher capacity road trains with a gross vehicle mass of 246T on the road for its proposed mining operations in the area located approximately 23km north east of the Broadarrow townsite.

  • The following users are proposed to be exempt from the proposed temporary closure for which they may use Mulgarrie Road during its closure period:
  • Norton Gold Fields, employees and contractors.Permit holders for which permits have been issued by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Any person wishing to comment on the proposed temporary closure may do so in writing addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 2042, Boulder WA 6432, within thirty-five (35) days of the publication of this notice.
