Goldfields DAMA Overview

The Goldfields Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) is a labour agreement between the Federal Government, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Shires of Coolgardie, Dundas, Esperance, Laverton, Leonora, Menzies and Ravensthorpe. The Goldfields DAMA provides employers with a specific tool to sponsor skilled overseas workers in specified industries in our region that are currently experiencing critical skill and labour shortages.

TSMIT increase for Goldfields DAMA

July 2026

Goldfields employers using the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) program are being advised of an increase in the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT).

As the Goldfields Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) representative, the City is advising employers of this change recently announced by the Government. The TSMIT is the minimum salary threshold that can be paid under many employer-sponsored visa programs. It increased nationwide to $79,423 on 1 July 2026. Some Goldfields DAMA occupations are eligible for a 10% concession on the TSMIT.

ImmiAccount Security Enhancements

The Department of Home Affairs is enhancing ImmiAccount security by introducing Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). MFA protects a user’s ImmiAccount by adding a second layer of security in addition to a password, strengthens account security and aligns with Australian Government cybersecurity standards.
