Harmony Week is an annual Australian celebration of cultural diversity, bringing together people from all backgrounds. 

This year, we’re celebrating Harmony Week with a week-long program of events co-designed with local multicultural groups and community members, showcasing stories, traditions and voices while reflecting our commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community.

Together, let’s celebrate the diverse community threads that weave community connection in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Sunday 15 March

Location: Curtin Graduates Hall

Harmony Week Opening Event

Celebrate the beginning of Harmony Week with a lively showcase of cultural performances and community stalls hosted by Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s diverse multicultural groups and local service organisations. Hosted by the Goldfields Community Legal Centre.

Monday 16 March
Time: 9am - 11am
Location: Eastern Goldfields Community Centre

Scarf Crocheting Workshop

Learn how to crochet your own scarf with Dizzy Fingers Open to all ages and skill levels. Enjoy a relaxed session with friendly guidance and morning tea provided. No bookings required.

Tuesday 17 March – Monday 23 March
Time: 10am - 3pm
Location: Museum of the Goldfields

Activities at the Museum of the Goldfields

Drop in to the Museum of the Goldfields for daily interactive activities, including contributing to a collaborative giant world map, a community weaving artwork, paper chain crafts, and a range of other self-guided activities for all ages.

Night of Storytelling

Three guest speakers will share personal and cultural stories, complemented by live music performances. Guests can also enjoy a selection of canapés and refreshments provided throughout the event.

Wednesday 18 March

Location: Kingsbury Park Youth Precinct

Street Sports

Join the fun at the Kingsbury Park Youth Precinct for an exciting cultural relay, with activity stations featuring a variety of games from around the world.

Citizenship Ceremony

Join us at the Goldfields Arts Centre as we proudly welcome our newest Australian citizens and celebrate this meaningful milestone in their journey.

Chalk Mural Activation

Help bring this community artwork to life by contributing to the installation of the Act Local Harmony Week chalk mural.

Harmony Week Celebration in the Square

Head to St. Barbara’s Square to enjoy live music and dance performances by Goldfields Fiji Association, Nepalese Dance Group, Goldfields Bhutanese Community, Filipino Australian Multicultural Association, Te Rauhuia Performing Arts Group, and witness the unveiling of the Act Local chalk mural.

Harmony Week at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair

Find us at the Community Fair for performances from local community groups, interactive activities for all ages, and discover more about the meaning and history of Harmony Week.

Further Fun Friday: Harmony Week Craft Session

Join our Further Fun Friday crew as we create colourful wall hangings inspired by themes of inclusion and community. Suitable for children aged 6–12 years. No bookings required.

Harmony Week at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair

Reflect on Harmony Week in Kalgoorlie-Boulder by revisiting the activities and events our community proudly helped deliver. Explore our showcase of community artwork and crafts, view photo and video highlights from the celebrations, and learn more about the significance of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and why it remains so important today.

Harmony Week Sports Day

A family-friendly multicultural sports festival featuring come-and-try sessions, mini games, cultural performances, food stalls and community activities at Centennial Park hosted by WA Football.
