One-to-One Darkroom Experience with Artist in Residency Mellen Burns

Discover the magic of traditional black-and-white photography in this private, approximately one-hour introduction to darkroom printing.
During this one-to-one experience, you will work alongside an experienced photographer to create your own 8 × 10-inch silver gelatin print. You can bring your own black-and-white negative or choose an image from the photographer’s archive to work with.
Together, you will be guided through the basic darkroom process, including using the enlarger, making a test strip, selecting the appropriate exposure and developing your print.

You will leave with your own finished 8 × 10-inch traditional darkroom print — a unique, handmade photographic artwork created by you.

The $200 experience includes:

• Approximately one hour of one-to-one darkroom instruction
• Use of the darkroom and equipment
• All photographic materials and chemicals
• One finished 8 × 10-inch silver gelatin print

Bookings:
Bookings and payment can be made directly through the Goldfields Arts Centre by phone or in person at the Box Office.

Once your booking has been made, the session time will be arranged directly with the photographer to find a time that works for both you and the artist.

No previous photography or darkroom experience is required.
