Residents, ratepayers and business owners are being invited to take part in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s 2026 Community Survey, which is now open. The survey is a shorter check-in on the priorities outlined in the Strategic Community Plan 2025-35 and asks the community how they think the City is tracking and where attention should be focused over the next two years.
The Strategic Community Plan 2025-35 was developed with extensive community input last year. This year’s survey provides an opportunity to see how the community feels the City is progressing against those priorities, while also identifying areas where further focus may be needed.
The survey also explores how well the City communicates with the community, listens to feedback and provides opportunities for people to be involved in local decision-making.
Mayor Glenn Wilson encouraged people to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share their views.
“We heard a lot from our community when we developed the new Strategic Community Plan, and this survey is about checking in to see how people think we’re tracking.”
“A lot has happened since then. We’ve acted on feedback in a number of areas, and there’s been some good progress, but we also know there’s still work to do.”
“We’ve heard more feedback since the last survey, and we want to keep that conversation going. This is another opportunity for people to tell us what they think is going well, where we could do better and what they want us to focus on over the next couple of years,” he said.
The survey can be completed online, with hard copies mailed to residential addresses and PO Boxes in Kalgoorlie and Boulder from 12 October. Community members will also have opportunities to complete the survey in person at the Spring Festival on 11 October and Colour the Square on 17 October.
Everyone who completes the survey will go into the draw to win a $500 Kal Dollar voucher.
The survey can be completed online at yoursay.ckb.wa.gov.au or by returning a completed hard-copy survey to the City’s Administration Building at 577 Hannan Street, Kalgoorlie.
Survey responses will help inform the City’s review of the Strategic Community Plan, future community engagement work and planning for emerging local government requirements.
Submissions close at 5pm on 31 October 2026.
