The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is inviting locals and visitors to spend Australia Day at Centennial Park this year, with a full program planned, including the Great Aussie Breakfast, a Citizenship Ceremony, community awards and live entertainment.

The day will begin with the Great Aussie Breakfast from 7am, served by the Rotary Clubs of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Official proceedings will begin from 8am, including a Citizenship Ceremony to welcome 32 new Australian citizens, the presentation of the Australia Day Community Awards, and the announcement of the 2026 Walk of Fame inductees - recognising people who have made a lasting contribution to Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Mayor Glenn Wilson said welcoming new citizens is one of the great privileges of being Mayor.

“Welcoming 32 new citizens, who come from countries across the globe, enriches our community with further stories, skills and experiences. The decision to make Australia and Kalgoorlie-Boulder their home strengthens the fabric of our community.”

“Australia Day is a chance to pause, look around, and appreciate what we share - our mates, our neighbours, our volunteers, and the people who quietly make this place better every day.”

“Each of us can contribute to making our city a great place and continue building a positive future for all who call Kalgoorlie-Boulder home,” he said.

After the formalities, the community is encouraged to stay and enjoy live music from the Goldfields Brass Band and local musician Marcus Maguire. Children’s entertainer Angie the Fairy will also be there, alongside a range of activities delivered by the Youth Council.

“Centennial Park will be full of music, families enjoying festivities and friends catching up. That's the best kind of Australia Day,” Mayor Wilson said.

Events will continue the following day with an Australia Day Pool Party at the Goldfields Oasis, featuring various inflatable activities (standard pool entry fees apply).

The City’s summer events program will wrap up next month with two free community concerts at Centennial Park as part of the Sunset Concert Series, headlined by The Living End on Saturday, 21 February and the Hindley Street Country Club on Saturday, 28 February.

Further event information is on the City’s website.
