The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s newest hallmark event, KALeidoscope, will make its debut from 13–14 September, bringing together a vibrant celebration of music, performance, visual arts, and cultural experiences.
Celebrating the creativity, culture, and community spirit that make our city unique, this exciting new festival will showcase local talent alongside national performers. A preview edition this year will set the stage for a full-scale festival launch in 2026.
Mayor Glenn Wilson said the festival is set to become a hallmark event for the region, building on the City’s commitment to cultural identity, stronger community connections, and a vibrant, liveable Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
“KALeidoscope is all about celebrating our local artists and performers and giving our community new ways to come together and connect. It shows that Kalgoorlie-Boulder is more than just a mining town - it’s a place where culture and creativity thrive.”
“Our hope is that this event will grow into a major festival that not only brings in visitors and performers from across Australia but also creates real benefits for local businesses and highlights Kalgoorlie-Boulder as a leader in regional arts and culture.”
This year’s program will feature a range of standout events and experiences, offering something for all ages and interests. Highlights include:
- Art Prize Community Day – a family-friendly day of live art demonstrations and hands-on creative activities. Saturday 13 September, 10am–2pm.
- Perth Symphony Orchestra Big Band at Centennial Park – a magical evening of world-class music under the stars. Saturday 13 September, 6pm–9pm.
- The Bridgerton Experience – a high tea and candlelit concert combining elegance, music, and atmosphere. Sunday 14 September, from 12pm.
In addition to these headline events, KALeidoscope will include workshops, exhibitions, and performances across the City, many of them community-led in partnership with local artists, cultural groups, and small businesses.
The event will run alongside the City’s prestigious Art Prize Exhibition, further strengthening Kalgoorlie-Boulder as a hub for creative expression. The festival will offer a mix of free and ticketed events, with a strong focus on family-friendly and inclusive programming.
The City is encouraging the community to attend, participate, and help bring the festival to life.
