The City is thrilled to be the recipient of $4 million in funding from the State Government’s Infrastructure Development Fund. This significant financial injection paves the way for crucial infrastructure works that will boost residential development within our community.

This investment will be allocated to extending our main sewerage network, allowing us to service approximately 66.9 hectares of undeveloped land near the airport. This area includes a 17.2-hectare site on Hart Kerspien Drive, which will now enable M/Group’s proposed 400-home lifestyle village development to proceed.

This village will feature a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes, offering a diverse and modern housing solution to our community. It comes at a critical time and will assist in alleviating the current accommodation shortage.

It is hoped the development will provide accommodation for essential workers across Kalgoorlie and the Goldfields, helping the City and the private sector deliver important projects and improve the population and liveability of the city through the provision of important services.

This funding also allows us to activate an additional 49.7 hectares of nearby land and supports residential infill endorsed as part of Local Planning Scheme 2.

By facilitating high-quality, family-focused residential developments such as this, in which homeowners and residents feel connected and secure, we hope to encourage them to settle permanently in the city.

We look forward to working collaboratively with our partners and stakeholders on realising this project.

We also welcome this week’s release of residential land at the GreenView at Karlkurla estate. The 28 new single residential lots and one grouped housing lot in this area are important to the overall housing and accommodation landscape and will also assist with the current housing demand.

This funding and the progression of land release shows the far-reaching benefits of local and state government collaboration and the significant impact for future growth and prosperity.
