The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has been recognised at the 2025 Australasian Reporting Awards, receiving a Bronze Award for its 2023–24 Annual Report.
The awards, now in their 75th year, celebrate excellence in annual and sustainability reporting across Australia and New Zealand. The City’s annual report was acknowledged for successfully meeting the criteria set by the Australian Reporting Awards panel of industry professionals, placing it among a select group of organisations recognised for transparent and effective reporting.
City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO Andrew Brien said the award reflected the collective effort of staff across the organisation.
“Annual reports aren’t just a compliance document - they tell the story of the work we do.”
“This award is a credit to the behind-the-scenes work done by our teams every day and to everyone involved in making sure this was accurately and clearly reported to our community through our 2023-24 Annual Report,” he said.
“This year’s report was very much a team effort, with input from every department, and we’re very proud of this result.”
The City’s 2023–24 Annual Report highlights key projects, service delivery achievements, and performance outcomes as part of the City’s Integrated Planning Framework. It also includes detailed governance and financial reporting.
Mayor Glenn Wilson said the City’s commitment to transparency is reflected in its regular reporting to the community.
“Ongoing and annual reporting is how we keep residents informed about what we’ve delivered and what we’re working towards,” he said.
“The Annual Report provides a great overview of our progress. Our dedicated staff have put a lot of work into it and it’s good to see their efforts recognised on a wider stage.”
“The recognition of the award demonstrates to the community what a good job the City is doing, not just in reporting but, in the delivery of services.”
“This award is also a reflection of the improvements we have made to our internal processes and the attention to detail our staff bring to their roles,” Mayor Wilson said.
