Kalgoorlie-Boulder is shining brightly once again as homes and streets across the city light up for the festive season. Running until 24 December, the Christmas Lights Trail is a simple invitation to slow down, step outside and enjoy Christmas with family, friends and neighbours.

There’s something special about how our community celebrates this time of year. We take pride in our neighbourhoods, appreciate the effort behind every set of lights, and share in the moments of joy that make Christmas feel memorable for all ages.

The City’s major light displays are a great place to start your trail. Visit the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Administration Building on Hannan Street and St Barbara’s Square in the CBD, then head to Loopline Park in Boulder before continuing on to explore the wider community trail.

Across Kalgoorlie-Boulder, residents have embraced the festive spirit with creative light displays and colourful decorations. Evening drives turn into family traditions, neighbours stop for a chat as they admire the lights, and familiar streets are transformed into something a little bit magical.

The Christmas Lights Trail is free, family-friendly and open to everyone. It’s an easy way to enjoy the warm summer evenings and create shared moments throughout the festive season.

How to Join the Fun:

  • Step 1: Download the Christmas Lights Trail map from the City’s Website.
  • Step 2: Pick a few stops and plan your evening
  • Step 3: Enjoy the lights.
  • Step 4: Share your favourite displays with family and friends.

Lights are best viewed after 7:30pm when the sun has usually fully set.

This festive tradition is one of the many small things that make Kalgoorlie-Boulder a wonderful place to visit, live and work - celebrating creativity, kindness and the joy of coming together.

Merry Christmas from the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and happy trailing.
