Expressions of interest open for 2025 New Year’s Eve Community Celebration

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is inviting local not-for-profit organisations to take the lead in delivering the community’s 2025 New Year’s Eve Celebration.

With up to $65,000 in funding and support available, the City is looking for a community partner with the passion and creativity to design an inclusive, family-friendly, and accessible event that brings the whole community together to welcome in the New Year.

Mayor Glenn Wilson said the event represents a unique opportunity for a local organisation to showcase what makes our community special.

“This is more than just an event - it’s a chance for our community to take ownership of a special night that belongs to everyone in Kalgoorlie-Boulder,” Mayor Wilson said.

“We are putting it out to the community with the hopes of seeing a bold, creative idea that reflects our local identity and provides a great chance for families to celebrate together.”

This opportunity is open to those groups who carry a vision for our community or have new ideas ready to be brought to life. The City is encouraging groups to think big and draw on their own strengths to inspire an event concept.

From family-friendly events with local food, games, and live music to outdoor movies under the stars, multicultural light parades, or even a festive party with a community countdown that transforms our community spaces - the City is encouraging organisations to bring their ideas forward and show what’s possible.

Mayor Wilson said, “Whatever the concept, this is your chance to bring people together for a celebration shaped by the community, for the community.”

To help bring ideas to life, the City has engaged Euphorium, a community engagement and cultural development organisation, to guide applicants through the Expressions of Interest process. Euphorium can assist organisations with developing event concepts and strengthening their submissions.

Expressions of interest close 5pm Tuesday 30 September 2025.

Community organisations interested in applying, are encouraged to book a support session with Euphorium by emailing eoi@euphorium.com.au or contacting Sarah-Jayne Eeles on 0402 161 055 or Julian Canny on 0458 306 111.

Full details, including funding eligibility and what support is available, will be published on the City’s website soon.
