Goldfields DAMA Extended to 31 December 2026

The Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) has extended the Goldfields Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) for a further 6 months, with the agreement now in place until 31 December 2026.

The Goldfields DAMA was due to transition to the Western Australian DAMA on 1 July 2026. The extension will allow DOHA and the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) additional time to finalise the transition arrangements.

What this means for employers

The Goldfields DAMA will continue to operate under the current arrangements until 31 December 2026, meaning eligible employers across the region can continue accessing the existing agreement while the transition to the WA DAMA is finalised.

We understand some employers may have worked towards the previously advised transition date, and appreciate their patience as these arrangements continue to evolve.

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder will continue delivering Goldfields DAMA services throughout the extension period, working closely with DOHA and DTWD to support employers and ensure a smooth transition when the new arrangements come into effect.

An online information session is being planned, with further details shared through the City's communication channels once confirmed.
