Happy Holidays from Mayor Bowler

Published on Monday, 29 November 2021 at 12:08:00 PM

I would like to wish all our residents a very happy holiday season as we move into December. 2021 has been a year full of ups and downs as we adjust to our new normal, so this festive season I hope you all take a well-deserved break and relax in the company of your loved ones.

From a ratepayer perspective, I would like to give special thanks to our City staff members who continue to work and contribute to our community through out the season and commend you on your dedication to ensuring Kalgoorlie-Boulder continues to be a great place to live, work and play.

The countdown to Christmas is well and truly on, an exciting and busy time for everyone, planning holidays and organising reunions with family and friends.

Our whole City has been lit up with Christmas decorations, from Boulder Town Hall to Hannan St, and I strongly encourage everyone to get out in the community and celebrate with one another.

There are many great activities and events happening all month long including the Christmas Tree Lighting and Street Party this Sunday November 28, Christmas Markets on December 4, Seniors Christmas Lunch on December 8, and many more going-ons at our several of the City’s recreational facilities.

This time of year is a wonderful time to shop local and support the many small businesses that operate in our community. Whatever your Christmas shopping list requires I am certain it will be available in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and you are guaranteed to get a better deal and warranty on big ticket items than buying from Perth in the Christmas frenzy sales.

Now more than ever we need to focus on keeping our spending in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, so support our local businesses who will be giving up their own time with family to make sure everyone in the community has an opportunity to do some shopping in this busy season.

As we celebrate this holiday season, please stay safe on the road and at the many celebratory events throughout the community.

I would also like to extend a special welcome to those who have come to spend time with their families and friends in Kalgoorlie-Boulder this December and I hope that you have a wonderful time.
