KALeidoscope returns to Kalgoorlie-Boulder this October, with nine days of arts, culture, entertainment and community experiences taking place across the city.
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s hallmark arts and culture festival will bring together local artists, performers, community organisations, businesses and visiting creatives for a program designed to give people plenty of ways to get involved.
From live music, exhibitions and workshops to community days, outdoor entertainment and major performances, KALeidoscope will showcase the creativity and diversity of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the wider Goldfields.
Mayor Glenn Wilson said the festival had grown significantly since its launch last year and was becoming an important fixture on the city’s events calendar.
“Last year gave our community its first taste of KALeidoscope, and this year we’re building on that with nine days of events and experiences across Kalgoorlie-Boulder,” Mayor Wilson said.
“The festival about giving people different ways to experience arts and culture. You might come along to a community day, discover some local art, see a live performance, take part in a workshop or simply enjoy an afternoon or evening with family and friends.
“What makes it special is that it brings together so many different people and organisations. The City provides the framework for the festival with City-coordinated events, but our community groups, businesses, artists and event partners all play an important role in making it happen.”
KALeidoscope will feature a pre-launch event on Friday 9 October with Club Pav: Kidz Takeover, a rave-inspired session for kids. Then officially kicks off on Saturday, 10 October with Colour the Square at St Barbara’s Square, a community day-style event, bringing local performers, creative activities and plenty to see and do into the heart of the Kalgoorlie CBD.
A second Colour the Square event will be held at St Barbara’s Square on Saturday, 17 October, with more events happening across Kalgoorlie-Boulder throughout the festival.
The Perth Symphony Orchestra will once again be a part of this year’s KALeidoscope program, bringing their talented musicians and live music to Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
There will be an outdoor cinema event and a unique Speakeasy Experience. The Kalgoorlie Town Hall will be given a new look for an evening, with the Speakeasy bringing live entertainment, music and a different atmosphere to one of the City’s best-known historic spaces.
The City thanks Lotterywest for its support of the Perth Symphony Orchestra and the associated events being held across the weekend, including the outdoor cinema, community day, Speakeasy experience and the One Big Voice event at the Goldfields Arts Centre.
Mayor Wilson said the involvement of visiting artists and performers added another dimension to the festival while creating opportunities for the local arts community.
“Having organisations like the Perth Symphony Orchestra come to Kalgoorlie-Boulder gives our community the chance to experience something they might otherwise have to travel to Perth to see,” he said.
“At the same time, it gives us an opportunity to put our own artists, performers and creative community in the spotlight and showcase the talent we have here.”
Visual arts will also feature throughout KALeidoscope, with the 2026 City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Art Prize exhibition continuing at the Goldfields Arts Centre until Friday, 16 October.
Another free exhibition, Selected: From Prize to Collection, will also be on display at Boulder Town Hall, showcasing works acquired by the City through previous Art Prizes and now held in the City’s art collection.

Mayor Wilson said KALeidoscope was about creating a festival that belonged to the whole community.
“We want KALeidoscope to be something people look forward to each year and something that continues to grow with our city,” he said.
“It’s about bringing local artists, community organisations, performers and businesses together, bringing visitors into the city and giving everyone a reason to get out and enjoy what Kalgoorlie-Boulder has to offer.
“There’s a lot happening over the nine days, and I encourage people to have a look at the program, pick a few things that interest them and get involved.”
KALeidoscope will run from Saturday, 10 October to Sunday, 18 October 2026, with free and ticketed events available throughout the festival.
