The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is pleased to announce that the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair Society (KBCFS) has been selected, through a recent Expression of Interest process, to deliver this year’s free community New Year’s Eve Celebration.

Supported by $65,000 in City funding, the Fair Society will deliver an inclusive, accessible, and family-friendly event designed to bring the community together to ring in the New Year.

The celebration will include live music and entertainment, food and drink stalls, and a spectacular fireworks display, offering locals a safe and welcoming place to enjoy the final night of 2025.

Mayor Glenn Wilson said supporting local groups to lead community events was an important way to strengthen local connections and collaboration, and is at the heart of who we are as a community.

“Congratulations to the Fair Society on being selected to lead this year’s New Year’s Eve celebration. They have a long history of delivering community events, and I’m confident this will be another memorable night for people of all ages.”

“We’re a Council that listens and acts on what our community tells us matters. Residents, especially families, want a welcoming, safe place to celebrate the New Year together, and we’re proud to help make that happen.”

“The New Year’s Event is a chance for everyone to come together, reflect on the year that’s been, and celebrate with friends, family, and fireworks right here in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.”

“We’re looking forward to seeing what the Fair Society creates for our community,” Mayor Wilson said.

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community Fair Society President, Sue Davey, said the team is thrilled to be taking the lead on this year’s celebration.

“We’re excited to be delivering this year’s New Year’s Eve event, and we can’t thank the Council enough for their support. It’s coming up quickly, but we’re confident we can pull together a fantastic night for everyone,” Ms Davey said.

“Our community really deserves something special for New Year’s Eve - a place where mums, dads, families and friends can relax, have fun, and not worry about a thing. That’s exactly what we want to create.”

“We’ll have a great band, licensed bar, and a large outdoor venue at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club (KBRC), giving everyone plenty of space to relax and enjoy the night.”

“We’re looking forward to working with performers, volunteers and families to bring this event to life, and to make it a New Year’s Eve Kalgoorlie-Boulder can be proud of.”

Event details and updates will be available via the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Fair Society’s website in the lead-up to the event.
