Kalgoorlie-Boulder will remain home to the WA PGA Championship for another five years, with a new agreement securing the tournament at Kalgoorlie Golf Course through to 2031.

Mayor Glenn Wilson joined golf legend and course designer Graham Marsh, 2023 WA PGA Champion Ben Eccles and Kim Felton, Tour Development Manager for the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia, to celebrate the extension and officially open PGA week.

The championship has been held at Kalgoorlie Golf Course since 2012, with the new agreement extending the partnership into its 20th year.

Mayor Glenn Wilson said the extension reflected Kalgoorlie-Boulder's standing as a destination for major events and professional golf.

“Our city has a reputation for staging world-class events that attract visitors from all over the world, and the WA PGA Championship has become an important part of our events calendar.

“Bringing high-quality professional golf to the region is not only a boost for tourism, but gives our local community of passionate golfers the chance to watch, mix with and learn from some of the very best.

“Kalgoorlie Golf Course and the Goldfields Golf Club are among our city’s greatest assets, and the work of the turf team to maintain the course to such a high standard, together with the support of club members, is a credit to everyone involved.

“We’re thrilled that Kalgoorlie-Boulder will continue to be home to the WA PGA Championship for a further five years.”

Four days of championship golf

The action begins with the Pro-Am on Wednesday evening, ahead of the opening championship round on Thursday 8 October.

This year, 120 players from across Australia, the United States, Canada and New Zealand will compete in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder 2026 WA PGA Championship, presented by TX Civil and Logistics.

The tournament runs until Sunday 11 October, giving locals and visitors four days to experience professional golf up close.

With its green fairways, striking red earth and expansive Goldfields skies, Kalgoorlie Golf Course provides a distinctive backdrop for the championship. The course was also recently named Get Into Golf Venue of the Year at the 2026 Golf Australia National Awards of Excellence, recognising its contribution to growing participation in the sport.

Come along and enjoy the action

Spectator entry is free, and everyone is welcome.

Bring the family, watch the professionals in action and enjoy the tournament atmosphere, with food and drinks available at the Waterhole Bar & Bistro.

There is plenty happening beyond the main competition, too, with a junior golf clinic running from 4pm to 5pm on Friday. The WA PGA All Abilities Championship and Road to the Outback Challenge will also take place over the weekend.

Sunday will see the final round, followed by the championship presentation ceremony from 3.30pm.

For those watching from home, the final two rounds will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports, showcasing Kalgoorlie Golf Course and the Goldfields to audiences around Australia.

Whether you follow golf closely or are simply looking for a great local day out, come along and give the visiting players a warm Goldfields welcome.
