Kalgoorlie Golf Course has claimed four major honours at the 2026 Western Australian Golf Industry Awards, reinforcing its position as one of the State’s leading regional golf facilities.

The course was recognised across multiple categories, including:

  • PGA WA Club Professional of the Year – Correy Price
  • Get Into Golf Venue of the Year – Kalgoorlie Golf Course
  • Regional Golf Course of the Year – Kalgoorlie Golf Course
  • Most Outstanding WA Club, Facility or Place to Play (Regional) – Kalgoorlie Golf Course

The awards recognise excellence across the Western Australian golf industry, highlighting facilities and individuals delivering strong performance, innovation and participation growth.

The result reflects a sustained period of growth at Kalgoorlie Golf Course, with rounds increasing from 24,800 in 2023 to 33,500 in 2025, and membership rising from 496 to 593.

Participation initiatives have played a key role in this growth, including beginner programs, women’s clinics, junior development pathways and the 1Club Golf system, all contributing to increased accessibility and engagement across the community. Initiatives that have been led by Correy, Jemma and the wider Kalgoorlie Golf Course team.

Behind the scenes, Course Superintendent Roger Innes has led significant improvements to course conditions, irrigation efficiency and turf management over the past two years.

Working in one of Australia’s most challenging golfing environments, his leadership has been central to the transformation of the course — delivering consistent, high-quality playing conditions and lifting the overall standard of the facility.

While he was narrowly unsuccessful in the Course Superintendent of the Year category, the impact of his work is clearly reflected in the course being recognised with both Regional Golf Course of the Year and Most Outstanding WA Club, Facility or Place to Play (Regional).

His contribution has strengthened the course’s reputation at both State and national levels, while ensuring it continues to meet the standard required to host major events such as the WA PGA Championship.

Kalgoorlie Golf Course has an established track record of hosting the WA PGA Championship and continues to be recognised as one of Australia’s most unique golfing destinations, ranked No. 24 by Golfing Australia magazine and No. 21 in Inside Golf magazine’s Top 100 Golf Experiences.

Mayor Glenn Wilson said the awards were a testament to the strength and consistency of the entire team.

“This is a fantastic result for Kalgoorlie-Boulder and a clear reflection of the work that’s gone into building the Golf Course into one of the State’s leading regional facilities,” Mayor Wilson said.

“To see the course recognised across multiple categories highlights the strength of the entire operation — from course presentation and programming through to coaching and community participation.”

“The Golf Course has proven over a number of years that it can deliver events like the WA PGA Championship, while continuing to grow local participation. That combination is what sets it apart.”
