The Kalgoorlie International Speedway is set for a major upgrade, with the State Government confirming $400,000 in funding for new trackside fencing.
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is pleased to be delivering the project on behalf of the State Government, with funding secured, the contract signed and works scheduled to begin in May 2027, following this year’s Speedway season.
Mayor Glenn Wilson said it was great to see the project now ready to go.
“The upgraded trackside fencing will bring the facility up to a five-star rated standard and create the opportunity to attract international-level events,” the Mayor said.
“That’s a great outcome for the Boulder Speedway Association and for Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Events of this calibre bring competitors, crews and spectators to our city, supporting local businesses and showcasing what Kalgoorlie-Boulder has to offer.”
The City also acknowledges the passionate advocacy of the Boulder Speedway Association, which has continued to support the project and push for the upgrade.
“It’s great to now see that commitment translating into works on the ground, and we look forward to seeing the upgrade delivered,” the Mayor said.
