This past weekend I attended the Sunset at the Soundshell Concert at Centennial Park to watch Katelyn Ann from Hearts of Gold, Black Venom and Eskimo Joe perform.
Eskimo Joe were on point with songs, sound quality, and overall entertainment as they kept the crowd captivated.
I would like to extend a special thank you to the City staff that made the show possible and ensured a safe and compliant event for all.
I would also like to congratulate Katelyn Ann and Black Venom for showcasing how talented the Kalgoorlie-Boulder music community is. Congratulations to you all and I hope to see more of you in the future.
This past week, the City announced the opening of this financial year’s grant program for community initiatives.
The Annual Grant Program assists in funding community development initiatives in line with the City’s Strategic Community Plan. I am pleased by the fantastic results and outcomes of the previous grants round and expect the incoming applications to be no different.
This year’s Art Prize theme was also announced and has been dubbed ‘no theme’ meaning artists can be more creative and open with their pieces. It will also hopefully encourage a wider range of artists to participate in the event.
These many opportunities help to develop our community and empower groups and individuals around the City to contribute to the arts and culture of the Goldfields.
I am proud of our great regional City and so grateful to all the community members that, through collaboration and innovation, make the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder such a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.
