Applications are now open for the first round of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Youth Grant Program (YGP).

A Youth Council initiative, the new grant program provides financial assistance to encourage skill development, active engagement in youth activities, events, and programs.

Youth service providers and organisations can apply for up to $5,000 in grant funding to be used towards the purchasing of goods and services for events, equipment, and sustainable activities, ensuring young people have access to resources that enhance their learning experiences.

Acting Youth Mayor, Brayden Donnell said the Youth Council is excited to support those working to enhance youth services and opportunities in our city.

“The Youth Grant Program is about creating an accessible grant program for not-for-profit and community groups. By offering small one-off grants for events, equipment, and sustainable activities, we are fostering an environment where our youth can thrive and contribute positively to the city."

"As Youth Councillors, we believe in the potential youth in our community, and the Youth Grant Program aligns with our vision for a more inclusive and vibrant community. It gives us an opportunity to support innovative projects that resonate with the City's Youth Strategic Action Plan and Strategic Community Plan."

"I encourage eligible youth groups and organisations to apply and look forward to seeing the creative and impactful projects or initiatives presented and the impact they will have for young people across our City now and into the future.”

Eligible applicants must be incorporated or supported by an auspice organisation.

The first round of funding closes 4pm, Friday 18 August, with second round to open in February 2024.
