Final Stage of the Hannan Street Footpath Upgrades

The City would like to make the community and Hannan Street businesses aware that line marking will take place on Hannan Street this week as the final stage of the major works for the Hannan Street Footpath project.

While the City would have preferred to provide more notice to the community and businesses, this has not been possible due to the need to coordinate the line marking contractor with the approvals provided by Main Roads and to ensure the works are completed so that they do not impact the major trading period leading up to Christmas.

On Wednesday, December 8, from 4am to 10:30am, parking will be closed from Town Hall to McKenzie building.

On Thursday, December 9, from 4am to 10:30am, parking will be closed from the Kalgoorlie Hotel to the Gold Bar.

The Nhanda team will be painting arrows, blue boxing for disabled parking bays and single lines between parking bays. As batches of parking bays dry, the bays will be opened to the public for use.

Acting CEO David Trevaskis said he is appreciative of the patience businesses and residents have afforded the project.

“Hannan St is looking fantastic and on behalf of the City, I would like to thank all Kalgoorlie-Boulder residents and Hannan Street businesses for working with us to see this project through,” said Mr Trevaskis.
